Applicants must have successfully completed the 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as individual subjects from a recognized education board. A minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM is required. Additionally, candidates must have scored at least 60% marks in English either in the Class 10 or Class 12 examination, in accordance with DG Shipping guidelines.
Only candidates who have passed both Class 10 and Class 12 from a recognized board are eligible to apply.
Qualifying the IMU-CET examination is compulsory for admission.
Possession of a valid passport is mandatory at the time of admission.
Course Duration
The programme is conducted over a period of 3 years, divided into 6 semesters, and is offered as a full-time residential course.
Age Criteria
Candidates must be below 25 years of age on the date of commencement of the programme.
Age Relaxation
SC / ST candidates: Relaxation of 5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Relaxation of 3 years
Women candidates: Additional relaxation of 2 years across all categories
Medical Standards
Applicants must meet the medical fitness requirements for sea service as per prescribed maritime norms. This includes:
Normal physical fitness for shipboard duties
Eyesight standards:
6/6 vision in the better eye
6/9 or 6/18 in the other eye (as permitted)
No color vision deficiency (no color blindness)
