Eligibility Criteria

  • Maximum age: 27 years as on 7 July 2025

  • Candidate must have completed BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

    • Specializations where Mechanical appears first (such as Mechanical & Automation, Mechanical & Electronics, Mechanical & Automobile) are also acceptable.

  • OR BE / B.Tech in Naval Architecture (including combinations where Naval Architecture appears first).

    • Degrees in Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering or Naval Architecture & Shipbuilding are also eligible.

  • Minimum 60% marks in final year of B.Tech (Mechanical) from an AICTE-approved institution.

  • Minimum 50% marks in English in either 10th or 12th standard.

  • Candidates who have already completed GME or B.Tech Marine Engineering are not eligible.

  • Must meet medical fitness standards as prescribed by DG Shipping.

  • Selected candidates must complete a 1-year GME (Graduate Marine Engineering) course from a company-approved institute.

  • Course fees will be borne by the candidate.

  • The company provides job sponsorship only. Employment is subject to:

    • Successful course completion

    • Maintaining required medical fitness

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

  • Both male and female candidates are encouraged to apply.

Step 1: Online Registration & Examination

Apply for the Entrance Exam

  • Complete your registration through the official MSC GME application portal.

  • Pay ₹1,000 towards registration and examination charges.

Important Dates

  • Exam registration begins: 11 September 2024

  • Last date to apply: 9 October 2024

  • Online exam schedule: 14th or 15th October 2024
    (Candidates may select their preferred date and time slot.)

Choose Interview Location

  • During the application process, select your preferred city for the personal interview.

  • The selected city will be considered if you qualify for the next stage.

Technical Requirements

  • You must have access to a mobile phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop with a working camera.

  • A laptop or desktop is strongly recommended for better exam experience.

  • The examination will be monitored online using AI-based proctoring technology.

Before Appearing

  • Carefully read all instructions and eligibility conditions available on the official website.


Step 2: Personal Interview Round

  • Candidates who successfully clear the online written test and rank in the merit list will be invited for a face-to-face interview.

  • The interview will be conducted in the city selected during registration.


Step 3: Medical & Psychometric Evaluation

Medical Examination

  • Shortlisted candidates must undergo medical tests, including eyesight assessment.

  • The examination must be conducted by a doctor approved by MSC.

  • Estimated medical examination cost: ₹5,000 – ₹6,000 (to be paid by the candidate).

Psychometric Assessment

  • Candidates are required to complete a psychometric evaluation through an MSC-approved counseling service.

  • Estimated fee: ₹1,000 (payable by the candidate).


Step 4: Final Selection

Final selection will be based on:

  • Successful performance in the MSC Entrance Examination.

  • Clearing the personal interview round.

  • Meeting eyesight and medical fitness standards.

  • Passing the psychometric assessment.

  • Fulfilling all applicable MSC and DG Shipping eligibility requirements.
