Eligibility & Admission Requirements

Nationality

  • Applicant must be an Indian citizen.

Entrance Examination

  • Candidate should have successfully qualified the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU-CET) conducted online.

Age Criteria

  • Maximum age limit is 25 years on the course commencement date.

  • Age relaxation applicable as follows:

    • 5 years for SC/ST candidates

    • 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)

    • 2 years relaxation for female applicants


Educational Requirements

  • Passed 10+2 (HSC) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.

  • Must have secured at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) at the 10+2 level.

  • Minimum 50% marks in English either in Class 10 (SSC) or Class 12 (HSC).

  • Original Mark Sheets and Certificates to be produced along with required photocopies.

  • Original School / College Leaving Certificate with photocopies.


Medical & Physical Standards

  • Candidate must be medically fit as per norms prescribed by the Director General of Shipping (DGS).

  • A Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a DGS-approved doctor is mandatory.

  • Eyesight requirements:

    • Vision of 6/6 in both eyes

    • No colour vision deficiency

    • Eye test certificate must be issued by a DGS-approved medical practitioner

Total Course Fee (Approximate)

7,60,000 - 7,70,000 per year

Admission will be considered only for those candidates who have:

  • Successfully cleared the IMU Common Entrance Test (CET), and

  • Fully satisfied all IMU-prescribed eligibility requirements, including age limit, academic qualifications, and medical fitness standards.

Candidates should carefully verify their eligibility before submitting the application form. Applications from ineligible candidates may be rejected at any stage.

Applicants who have appeared for improvement, compartment, or supplementary examinations must ensure that these examinations were taken from the same examination board as the original qualifying exam.
Candidates who have changed their board for such examinations will not be considered eligible for admission.
