Seven Islands Maritime Training Institute (SIMTI) is a professional maritime education institute established under the Seven Islands Maritime Training Foundation, a not-for-profit Section 8 entity promoted by Seven Islands Shipping Limited, one of India’s leading private shipping companies. The institute is dedicated to developing skilled, disciplined, and industry-ready maritime professionals aligned with modern fleet requirements. Option 1: Class 10 Qualification

  • Must have passed Class 10 with Science and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.

  • Minimum 40% aggregate marks in Class 10 are required.

  • Candidates must have secured at least 40% marks in English either in Class 10 or Class 12.

  • Class 10 must be completed from a recognized board.

Option 2: ITI Qualification (Mandatory for GP Rating)

  • Successful completion of a 2-year ITI course in trades such as Fitter, Machinist, Mechanic, Welder, or Turner from a Government-approved institute.

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in the final year of ITI.

  • At least 40% marks in English in Class 10 or Class 12 are required.

  • Class 10 qualification must be from a recognized board.

Option 3: Diploma / Degree Holders

  • Candidates holding a Diploma or Degree recognized by State or Central Government / AICTE are eligible.

  • Must have passed Class 10 with Science and Mathematics securing minimum 40% aggregate marks.

  • Minimum 40% marks in English in Class 10 or Class 12.

  • For Diploma/Degree holders, the upper age limit may be relaxed, provided shipboard training is completed within one year of course completion.

Application & Selection Process

Candidates seeking admission must submit their application through the institute’s official website.

After successful submission, applications will be reviewed and shortlisted candidates will be informed via email about the next stage. Selected applicants will receive an email invitation for a personal interview, usually conducted in Mumbai. Interview venue and schedule will be decided by the institute and shared well in advance. Requests for change of date or venue will not be entertained.

Candidates who clear the interview will be required to undergo a medical examination conducted by a company-authorized doctor. Based on academic performance, interview assessment, and medical fitness, a final merit list will be published on the institute’s website.

Candidates featured in the merit list must confirm their admission by paying the seat booking amount and submitting the required documents to the Admissions Team. After confirmation, a sponsorship letter will be issued, which may be used to apply for education loans from nationalized banks.

Joining instructions, reporting details, and document requirements will be shared prior to course commencement. Candidates must report to the campus on the notified date and time.
